The startup life is notoriously fast, busy and stressful, and somewhere among the foosball tables and vending machines we’ve lost our way on true self-care.

Anna is our ace new Community Engagement Co-ordinator who, like an Octopus, has her paws in all corners of the Timely marketing machine. You’ll see Anna popping up in all of our online communities spreading the Timely love and helping connect the dots within our ecosystem.

Startup Weekend takes place all over the world. It’s a 54-hour event where people interested in entrepreneurship have the opportunity to experience launching their own startup. This year, Timely came aboard to support Startup Weekend Dunedin.

Family means different things to different people and here at Timely we embrace a family first mentality in all we do.

Building and leading a remote team is a unique scenario. There are five key things I’ve learned on this journey so far, which by sharing I hope will help others to grow remote crews that are happy, thriving, and smashing it out of the park.

We are so super stoked to have scooped the Rising Star award last night at the ninth annual Microsoft NZ Partner Awards held in Auckland, NZ.

But you can have what’s most important. I remember when I was little, my Dad would come home on a Friday night after work and a quick stop at the local for an end of week round. He’d always bring home a brown paper bag with 3 chocolate covered toffee bars from the dairy in it for me and my two older brothers. He was never very late, always home well before dinner.

At Timely, we really are proud of the team we have assembled. They’re all people who believe in what we’re doing, why we’re doing it, and how we’re doing it. Most of them are people who have run businesses before and know the struggles of being a business owner first hand. We have worked on putting together a team who “gets it” and this is important to us and our customers.

When I quit my corporate job to work for a startup from my kitchen table, my parents and their friends thought I was mad.

Companies are missing out. They are missing out on the massive pool of highly skilled, well- educated and incredibly talented women who happen to have children. Many of these women leave their careers to start families and don’t return, often because it’s simply too hard or too expensive, or both. Remote working changes the game for many.

I have a job doing something I enjoy. I get to ask interesting people questions about their life under the pretext of writing an article on them. I get to share these stories with an audience of 15,000+ people, and the feedback I deal with is overwhelmingly positive. Despite this, I’m leaving my job.
